			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Orthorexia </strong> is a new eating disorder that is defined as a person who is obsessed with eating healthy. The real question is where does the urge to eat healthy come from? If it comes from a deep insecurity often stemming from childhood, then a form of deep introspection and possibly holistic therapy may be helpful.</p>
<p><strong>How it Happens:</strong><br />
The ego will often create a false self to protect itself from feeling a certain emotion such as vulnerability.  The process of an eating disorder can start with <strong>retrospection</strong>(turns the emotion inward on themselves), and then projects these feelings to outward inappropriate sources.  This is often done on a subconscious level<strong>(projection)</strong>.<br />
ie.  Instead of expressing anger towards the person who is judging, the emotion is experienced as anger towards oneself(retrospection).  The person then judges others without likely knowing why they are doing it.<br />
<strong>*Recognizing this pattern can sometimes be enough to overcome a disorder.  </strong></p>

<p>Traditional western therapists do not fully grasp that repressed emotions are literally held in the body.  Western paradigm practitioners will help one understand the deep affecting issues intellectually, but is often lacking the means to fully integrate the experience.  These emotions will truly need to come up and be re-experienced to truly heal.  </p>
<p><strong>A few forms of Holistic Therapy include:</strong><br />
Breath Work including Holotropic breath work<br />
Shadow Work<br />
Pycho-therapy(a practitioner that understand the emotions must be released)</p>
<p><strong>It is important to note that both Yoga and Meditation can aid in the process of seeing through the defense mechanisms of the ego but may not be sufficient.  </strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Brewing your Kombucha at home is easy and fun.  It will save you money and of course give you all the medicinal benefits of drinking kombucha.  Mainly kombucha being a probiotic and having live enzymes to help aid in digestion. </p>
<p>As some of you know, Kombucha was pulled from the shelves mid 2010.  The alcohol content was too high.  All companies scrambled to change the recipe and put a product back on the shelves that met FDA guidelines.  During this time, the home brew kombucha market took off.  </p>

Easy Home Brew Kombucha: 1 Gallon Recipe<br />
</strong><br />
<strong>Ingredients:</strong><br />
5 black tea bags<br />
1 cup of sugar<br />
1 gallon water<br />
Live Kombucha culture</p>
<p><strong>Hardware:</strong><br />
1 gallon plus glass or ceramic jar/container (cheap at thrift stores!)<br />
Cloth hand towel w/ elastic (to make sure fruit flies do not get in)<br />
Funnel(optional)</p>
<p><strong>Directions:</strong><br />
1.  Brew one gallon of tea w/ sugar (let cool)<br />
2.  Pour tea into glass container and add live culture.<br />
3.  Add herbs, fruits, vegetables, or spices. (Optional)<br />
4.  Let sit for 2-4 weeks, depending on preferred potency.  (Warmer room, the better)<br />
5.  Bottle in dark glass container.<br />
6.  Enjoy your Home Brew Kombucha.  </p>

<p><strong>Some Practical Cleansing Tips for the Everyday Person:</strong></p>
<p><strong>1.  Mini Fasting Each Night:</strong><br />
Extend your nightly fast with a much later &#8220;BreakFast&#8221;.  When you sleep the body has the opportunity to cleanse itself.  The peak hours of cleansing is from 10pm to 2am.  It is important to try not eat at least 3 hours before that.  Also try to wait a few hours after waking before eating anything.  Try to give your body the longest period of time each night with no food.  10-16 hours is very doable.  Some health modalities recommend one day a week of fasting, but is likely not practical for most.  </p>
<p><strong>*It is this editors belief that disease begins with poor digestion.  As undigested foods sit in the stomach, they become a breeding ground for yeasts, bacteria, fungus, and viruses.  Tip: Only eat when hungry </strong><br />

2.  Drink lots of Water:</strong><br />
In the morning and in between meals drink plenty of water.  Water facilitates the cleansing processes of the liver, kidneys, and blood.  Also drink things that will facilitate cleansing.  Warm lemon water first thing in the morning is a must.  </p>
<p><strong>3.  Space out your meals and do not snack!</strong><br />
There is a pandemic of constant all day eating in offices across America.  It can serve as a comfort food, when one is less than fulfilled.  Depending on the food, wait 2-5 hours before your next meal.  Allow the body to fully digest the food before eating again.</p>

<p>This past weekend I had the privilege of attending a <strong>Matthew Kocel Event</strong>.  It blew me away.  The sound was so rich in vibration it felt like it was 3 dimensional.  </p>

<p>25% of Americans suffer from mild to serious forms of <strong>constipation</strong>.  Changing the diet and adding in exercise into the daily routine will likely bring about desired results.  </p>

<p>Eating high fiber foods such as fruits, vegetables, grains such as quinoa, brown rice are important.  Doing a cleansing diet such as the food food diet can be helpful.  </p>
<p>Removing or cutting back on clogging foods such as <strong>dairy, breads(gluten) and processed foods</strong> is also a big help in improving digestion and relieving constipation naturally.  </p>
<p><strong>Food combining:</strong> Try to eat simple meals with as little diversity as possible.  The more types of food that is combined at the same time the harder the digestive system will need to work.  </p>
<p>A big no no is combining <strong>meat and starches</strong> in the same meal.  This will cause the starch food no stop digestion until it leaves the stomach.  This means no spaghetti and meatballs or subs.  </p>
<p>Also cut out all <strong>sweets immediately after meals</strong>(including fruits).  Yes this means no deserts.  The sugar breaks down much quicker than other foods causing a back up and fermentation.  </p>
